It’s a metamorphosis!
Friends and customers, we’ve got some major news for you:
This year, Teatotaller Somersworth will be transforming into something near and dear to our hearts — a recovery friendly restaurant. Over the last several months we’ve worked with the folks at SOS Recovery Community Organization to imagine the kind of restaurant our region needs: a place that focuses on destigmatization, employs folks in recovery or those previously incarcerated and develops marketable job skills, all while serving fresh, craveable breakfast foods in a place that welcomes everyone…
Enter Fold’d, a crepe- and omelette-focused modern diner on a mission.
After months of searching for a home, we and SOS realized the opportunity was right in front of us: transform Teatotaller’s quick-service cafe into a full-service breakfast and lunch spot. Later this year, Fold’d will take over the space currently at 69 High St.
What does this mean
Teatotaller’s Somersworth cafe will be *closing* this month to make way for this new social enterprise. Our last date open is Sunday, Jan 22. We will be open regular hours until then — come join us for our final hoorah!
Teatotaller as a business and brand isn’t going anywhere — our Concord cafe is going strong and we’ve got some exciting updates and drag events planned in the coming months. And of course, you can always order our teas at ChaiCurious.com
SOS will begin renovations in late winter so check out FolddNH.com and make sure to follow SOS Recovery Community Organization to keep up on progress.Lastly, a note about our staff: if you’ve been to Teatotaller, you know it’s our incredible team that makes the experience what it is. Our small crew has done some mighty things for this community and business. Every current Somersworth employee will receive a severance package and, for those that are interested, options for employment in our Concord cafe or the new entity, once it opens. While they have been aware of this news for some time and many have made plans for their next adventure, please DM if you’re hiring for exceptional talent, as each one of them would make a huge impact to any team or organization.
